Take Me To Forever: It’s been my dream To have a house where There ain’t a clock on the wall And we can go about our days like Time don’t exist anymore So won’t you take me to forever So I never have to worry About what I’m doing if it’s right or wrong Although I might not remember And I may forget our story Promise not to give up on our love Yeah I promise I won’t give up on our love Oh my life I’ve been hanging on a dime With fancy cloths and pop-up cars But you came along This pretty girl who Taught me to live without a heart So won’t you take me to forever So I never have to worry About what I’m doing, if it’s right or wrong Although I might not remember And I may forget our story Promise not to give up on our love Yeah I promise I won’t give up on our love The part of me that I hate the most Is right where I am now Because through the ups and downs I look past the beginning And I always look forward to the end But like a stone I sank to the bottom of you And gave you my will as your own So won’t you lead me where you want to I’ll follow you where you go And not look back and judge where I’ve come So won’t you take me to forever So I never have to worry About what I’m doing if it’s right or wrong Although I might not remember And I may forget our story Promise not to give up on our love Yeah I promise I won’t give up on our love

Comfort Me 05:14
Comfort Me: Distant world has got me travelin Through the ups and downs of it’s distraction This old heart is hard and calloused It don’t beat for me Empty bottle has got me cryin Because it knows exactly how I want to feel And the dealer must be a woman She’s got it out for me Won’t you comfort me When I am struggling Won’t you comfort me When my feet don’t touch the ground Won’t you comfort me Through life’s dispositions Because you got what I need Empty ballroom has got me dying With shattered dreams scattered all over the floor And the tug o’ war of this love Has got my brain sore This ol’ rocking chair’s still moving Though there ain’t a soul in site And you will forever be missed In my eyes Won’t you comfort me When I am struggling Won’t you comfort me When my feet don’t touch the ground Won’t you comfort me Through life’s dispositions Because you got what I need And I’ve fallen on hard times Like a ship lost at sea So baby hold on to me With all of your life Because probably I promise We’ll get out somehow If you’ll comfort me When I am struggling And when my feet don’t touch the ground If you’ll comfort me Through life’s dispositions Because you got what I need You got what I need You got what I need When it’s time to take a rest And they cover my body with the ground I want no one to contest Just what I have found

Gimme One Shot: It’s getting harder each day To look you in the eye You sons and daughters Just coasting through time Will you ever understand? Or will your sun run out? Gimme One Shot: I wanna go back to the days Where they lasted longer yet You could grab the hand of your pal And just hang out in the heat It didn’t matter what you did It didn’t matter who you are Gimme one shot To show you who I am What I’ve found out How it’s floating in the air Can’t you hear it? Because it’s calling your name But you won’t see it Because you’re not going to change You’ll forever be the same I used to be lucky in life Oh I thought I had it all But then the hands of time fell upon me Spent seven years in the dark The drugs and the whiskey It brought the world on strong Then love took my hand Now it don’t matter what I do It don’t matter who I am Because I will go out Picking up cans for nickels and change Gimme one shot To show you who I am What I’ve found out How it’s floating in the air Can’t you hear it? Because it’s calling your name But you won’t see it Because you’re not going to change You’ll forever be the same I’ve been knocked down And I’ve lost it all Been pushed so hard I couldn’t breathe at all And the world is the strongest war you’ll face It will leave you breathless Make you loose your faith Gimme one shot To show you who I am What I’ve found out How it’s floating in the air Can’t you hear it? Because it’s calling you name But you won’t see it Because you’re not going to change You’re not going to change

Miss Ruth 03:38
Miss Ruth: Miss Ruth, you wanna come over Play dice on that old kitchen stove Serves me right to be all alone Because this city lied and hearts I stole But I won’t fight this dawn anymore Two feet wide and truth’s out the door What is it we’re living for? We’re fighting for? Is there more? Please God let there be more Sinking ship, when I read your letter Trash it went, fell hard on the floor Broken plate, I cussed your name We all seem to know what we’re doing But it slips your fingers, never crossed you mind But I won’t fight this dawn anymore Two feet wide and truth’s out the door What is it we’re living for? We’re fighting for? Is there more? Please God let there be more Let there be more Is there more? Sinking ship, when I read you letter Trash it went, fell hard on the floor Broken plate, I cussed your name

Nothing To Lose: The sky’s filled with haze today Its brought me to that place again I’m digging it deeper But you don’t feel nothing at all Your numb right to your bones I think I’ll leave this town Just let me get my coat Because I, got nothing to lose but the site of you My mind was split, When you filled it with love that you placed at my feet But I, I can’t seem to forget All the images I saw of us falling apart But you don’t mind, That there’s this peace I find When you bring me to my knees Sorry I didn’t give you enough of my words And the thought of us together is too good to be true I guess my love is like sinking sand But hey honey, you know exactly what you do But I, I got nothing to lose but the site of you My mind was split, When you filled it with love that you placed at my feet But I, I can’t seem to forget All the images I saw of us falling apart But you don’t mind, That there’s this peace I find When you bring me to my knees I worked real hard to be a better man It never seemed to be good enough for you So I built them up stronger then concrete It just took one look in your eye For these walls to come down These walls came crumbling down But I, I got nothing to lose but the site of you My mind was split, When you filled it with love that you placed at my feet But I, Yeah I got nothing to lose but the site of you My mind was split, When you filled it with love that you placed at my feet But I can’t seem to forget All the images I saw of us falling apart But you don’t mind, That there’s this peace I find When you bring me to my knees You bring me to my knees

This Time Around: She only loves me when I’m down And she says that’s how love goes Now that the money has all run out She thinks our love’s not strong enough But she wears flowers in her hair And her eyes shine like diamonds One things for certain She’ll always protect herself And she’ll be the one who takes me out Yeah she’ll be the one who breaks my heart This Time Around She only kisses me when she wants to She breaks my heart every time we fight But I’m tired of thinking about What I’m going to do without I guess it’s time to pack that old suitcase I guess it’s time to pack that old suitcase But she wears flowers in her hair And her eyes shine like diamonds One things for certain She’ll always protect herself And she’ll be the one who takes me out Yeah she’ll be the one who breaks my heart This Time Around The prophecies they say Since beginning of time, we won’t ever last But there may come a day were I’ll need no one, but my own space Next Time Around She wears flowers in her hair And her eyes shine like diamonds One things for certain She’ll always protect herself She’ll be the one who takes me out Yeah she’ll be the one who breaks my heart Yeah she’ll be the one who takes me out Yeah she’ll be the one who breaks my heart This Time Around This Time Around

I Did It For You: I can just see you sitting on that couch alone Feeling like you had too many times before Where did our love go and how did it fall I thought it would last forever How do you walk these streets alone When your family’s gone and you’ve lost your soul But with a few words I wrote on that page below Don’t doubt my love I would have gave it all for you Took down mountains and got stoned for you Honey there ain’t anything I wouldn’t do If you would’ve fought for me Because I did it for you About three months gone down the road Doubt this heart will love like it had before But every now and again I find a piece of it Hope it’ll be the last But it’s been out in the desert too many times before Where you left it to hang and dry alone Maybe one day it might work again But until then I’ll wait I would have gave it all for you Took down mountains, and got stoned for you Honey there ain’t anything I wouldn’t do If you would’ve fought for me Because I did it for you

Be Strong 04:12
Be Strong: Your sadness hit my brain I wasn’t breathing Your freight train hit my face This life’s not worth living But Mama showed me the way How compassion can hit your vanes She said baby please be strong We’ll carry on Cause I’ve been blinded before You still got your vision When the light shined in my face I wasn’t clearly thinking Became comfortable with who I am And how I was living But then He showed me the way How compassion can hit your vanes He said baby please be strong We’ll carry on Cause I’ve been blinded before You still got your vision

Bartender 02:57
Bartender: The stars left your eyes As I walked inside To pour me a coffee instead If I had a dollar for every time that it rained It wouldn’t matter Because I have nothing to claim So bartender won’t you pour me another round Because my baby’s gone astray It don’t matter if she comes back It don’t matter if she stayed Because I’m gone Yeah baby I’m gone The scars grow heavy On my hands and my face With every thought of you That crosses my mind The leaves they started shivering Because that cold’s coming in And they know that their time here is short So bartender won’t you pour me another round Because my baby’s gone astray It don’t matter if she comes back It don’t matter if she stayed Because I’m gone Yeah baby I’m gone Bartender won’t you pour me yet another drink Because my baby has gone astray That whiskey may kill me It don’t matter anyway Because I’m gone Yeah baby I’m gone Oh I’m long gone yeah baby I’m gone Oh I’m long gone yeah baby I’m gone
10.
A Heart To See You Through: Broke your heart last October I know I’ve done it a few times since Sometimes I wish someone would kill me For going on living life like this But you brought the dishes to the table And we prayed to God to free our sins Honey I know we have a love stronger then most Just like our Granny and Grandpa did I know we had our stormy weather But we love each other still So darlin’ won’t you please believe me when I tell you That this heart, is the heart to see you through The way I feel for you I’d turn my back on most Go make love in that old rest stop Baby I think I could go anywhere with you And it wouldn’t matter if we ever made the top I know we had our stormy weather But we love each other still So darlin’ won’t you please believe me when I tell you That this heart, is the heart to see you through I know we had our stormy weather But we love each other still So darlin’ won’t you please believe me when I tell you That this heart, is the heart to see you through Now we’re all gathered here today to celebrate The two of us becoming one So you better believe me when I look into those big brown eyes And say I’ll be with you till they lay me down You know I’ll be with you till they lay me down I know we had our stormy weather But we love each other still So darlin’ won’t you please believe me when I tell you That this heart, is the heart to see you through This heart, Oh honey it’s the heart, that deserves you

about

Award-winning songwriter Josh Halverson has one goal when it comes to his music: to spread truth and love among listeners. His earnest new album, One Shot, blends his current acoustic roots sound with shades of the R&B and pop he grew up loving. Halverson, the son of a cattle rancher, writes with a maturity beyond his 28 years as he meditates on life, love, and loss. Recorded live to tape in producer Brian Douglas Phillips’ living room, ONE SHOT is as warm and comforting as an heirloom quilt on a cold night, and a promising release from an up-and-coming Americana artist.
